Microarray, PCR, Bioinformatics Shared Resource Facility

Mission

The Microarray, PCR, and Bioinformatics Shared Research Facility (MPB SRF) at Mount Sinai School of Medicine is an advanced, state-of-the-art genomic technology center. We are devoted to facilitating access to cutting-edge instrumentation and expertise needed to perform successful large-scale, high-throughput genomic/proteomic experiments. The facility provides access to high throughput robotic instruments for liquid handling, high throughput real-time PCR, large-scale microarray technology including array fabrication of custom genomic or proteomic arrays, and Affymetrix GeneChip processing of expression array, genotyping array and tiling array, as well as basic and advanced data analysis/statistics/bioinformatics support, and access to various analysis software tools. The facility offers complete publication quality RNA sample-to-results custom services for real-time PCR mRNA quantification in large scale (many genes, many samples) or small-scale experiments, and for microarray large-scale genomic or focused screening experiments. We aim to provide high-quality support on experimental design, data analysis, laboratory instruction, service, and consultation to all MSSM research and translational/clinical community to move forward to the cutting-edge genomics/proteomics era.
